Dr. Joshua Sinai, a senior faculty member and an entrepreneur, is a business leader in technology, complex IT solutions, and risk management and resilience. And he is an advocate of strong executive leadership and national security and defense. He joined S2P's Advisory Board as a Full Member, effective April 1, 2023. And he has been appointed to a three-year term.
Joshua's substantive areas of expertise cover a broad spectrum of the needs of government and businesses addressing complex IT solutions, computer science, risk management, healthcare, national defense, and related industries—and beyond.
His passion is discovering, creating, implementing, and applying healthcare-related national security creative solutions to complex IT problems.

Dr. Sinai is a highly skilled veteran of the academic side of the High-Tech industry and a very successful entrepreneur. He has an optimal balance of professional experience spanning the private and public sectors. In addition, he has (1) exceptional skills in the national security and national defense disciplines, (2) proven faculty/management/leadership experience, and (3) highly recognized IT risk management skills and cybersecurity expertise.

Dr. Joshua Sinai is the Professor of Practice, Intelligence & Global Security Studies at Capitol Technology University, Laurel, MD.
He has more than 35 years of experience as a practitioner-analyst in national and international security work in Washington, DC, where he has an extensive combined career in academia, government service (mainly as a contractor), and consulting in the corporate sector.
His areas of specialization cover the application of "enterprise security risk-management frameworks" to a spectrum of risks in national and international security fields.

With risk defined as a function of threats, vulnerabilities, and consequences, and overall risk reduced by the application of prioritized risk mitigation measures, Dr. Sinai defines his fields of risk mitigation as ranging from pandemics, economic crises, climate change, and cyber-attacks, to terrorism and active shooters.
Among his consulting work in the private sector, from 2019 to 2021, Dr. Sinai consulted for several of TorchStone Global's corporate clients. These efforts included writing a report on security systems for a prominent healthcare provider to safeguard their remote nursing workers. In addition, in the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, he was detailed to support a major corporation whose emergency operations center required weekly updates on news trends that affected their operations, such as the introduction of new vaccines, new compliance and regulatory guidelines on vaccinating staff, viral infection rates in the US and globally, and lockdown and border crossing restrictions and re-openings.
At Capitol Technology University, which Dr. Sinai joined in mid-2020, he administers the curriculum development and teaching of undergraduate BS and graduate MS and Ph.D. degree programs on 1) Counterterrorism and 2) Intelligence & Global Security. Both degree programs are accredited by the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC).
