Upon retirement from Lockheed Martin, Dr. Land was responsible for technical solutions, strategic partnerships, global innovation centers, research and development, and emerging technology planning.

Previously, Land held numerous executive-level positions as Engineering VP, R&D VP, CTO, and CIO. In addition, he has extensive senior-level technical experience performing in many chief architect and chief engineer roles. Previous employers include IBM and Loral.

Many of the details. Dr. Land:  

 

• Led a 7,500 technical/engineering delivery organization serving domestic and international customers.

• Led a Research & Development organization for a $10B Information Systems and Global Solutions business segment.

• Was responsible for design, implementation, and operations of enterprise-wide complex solutions for large customers, such as Department of Defense, Civilian Agencies, Ministry of Defense, USG Corporation, Fluor Corporation, General Motors, and point solutions across other domains.

• Served as a Board Chairman at Capitol Technology University and at Prince George’s Community College Foundation. 

• Held other positions, including as Hispanic Information Technology Executive Council Board Director, Potsdam University Board Trustee, Syracuse University Engineering and Computer Science Dean’s Leadership Council Member, Cyber Maryland Advisory Board Member, Washington DC CIO Executive Committee Chair, and The World Economic Forum Member.

• Was selected eight times as one of the Top Hispanics in Business and Technology by HE&IT magazine; thrice named a Most Influential Hispanic by the HITEC; received the prestigious Global CIO Executive Top 10 Breakaway Leader award from EVANTA; received the Minera Lifetime Achievement award for SUNY.

• Received a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Potsdam University and a master’s degree in Computer Science from Syracuse University. He also received a certificate of post-graduate studies in Executive Leadership/Management.

• Received an honorary doctorate in Science from Potsdam University and an honorary doctorate in Humane Letters from Capitol Technology University.

• Serves on Dissertation committees for select technical PhD and Doctoral Degree Candidates.

• Endowed three forever-lasting educational scholarships at academic institutions.

• Helped establish an all-girls STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) boarding school in Nakuru, Kenya.

• Is a Member of Upsilon Pi Epsilon and Epsilon Delta Pi Honor Societies.

• Is a much-sought-after "technology-future-projections” global speaker. 

• Is active in philanthropic initiatives in the US and worldwide.
